Description
- Coordinates the timely execution and delivery of all food and beverage orders to the satisfaction of the members.
- Monitors all wait for staff stations and assigned seated tables as well as the transmission and timely execution of the orders.
- Ensures restaurants and/or events are set up and ready for opening times and that floor plans are complete for each shift.
- Provides daily specials and inputs information into the POS system.
- Conducts line-up with the staff on duty on a daily basis.
- Leads by example with effort, knowledge, and a positive attitude.
- Ensures that the front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house staff work in unison so as to avoid backups and unnecessary delays in foodservice.
- Handles complaints from members and guests, and resolves issues to ensure member satisfaction.
- May have to taste (taste is defined as sampling a small portion of an item) a member’s alcoholic beverage or food item, which contains alcohol in response to a member's complaint regarding the beverage or food item.
- Provides hands-on assistance to the staff by taking orders, running food or beverages, bussing, handling re-fires, and seating guests.
- Motivates staff by reinforcing the concept of teamwork and directs the staff not only by assigning responsibilities but also by example.
- Systematically addresses all special requests and/or complaints by the members.
- Checks tables to show members that their comfort, satisfaction, and/or complaints are important.
- Conducts training on a continuous basis to systematically improve the performance of the front-of-the-house staff during service.
- Ensures that all opening, closing, and running side work is completed throughout the shift.
- Work closely with the Director of Culinary on menus in Imenupro and assist with inputting dinner menus into Jonas and make changes as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Clubhouse Manager, Director of Food and Beverage, and Assistant Food and Beverage Director.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Experience in Jonas, Imenupro and Smartdraw, a plus.
- Familiarity with food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in front-of-the-house operations.
- Previous experience in an upscale restaurant, hotel/resort or club is preferred.
- Must be able to work unusual hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
