ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Design-to-Code Ownership

  • Lead frontend architecture decisions for the C-View NextGen React.js rewrite
  • Transform product requirements and rough Whimsical mockups into production-ready React components
  • Create pixel-perfect UI implementations with strong attention to visual design details
  • Design and implement component systems and design patterns for the new architecture
  • Make real-time design decisions during development without handoffs

Frontend Engineering Excellence

  • Architect and build the new React.js application from the ground up
  • Implement modern state management solutions and component hierarchies
  • Establish frontend development patterns, tooling, and best practices
  • Develop responsive, performant React applications using TypeScript
  • Optimize application performance and user experience for large datasets

User Experience Focus

  • Evaluate and improve user flows at the screen and component level
  • Ensure excellent usability across different devices and browsers
  • Conduct informal usability testing and iterate based on feedback
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements and user stories

Technical Leadership

  • Establish frontend architecture patterns and best practices
  • Mentor other engineers on UI/UX considerations
  • Contribute to our design system and component library
  • Stay current with frontend technologies and design trends

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Experience with logistics, supply chain, or data-heavy applications
  • Background in both design and engineering roles
  • Familiarity with design tools (Figma, Sketch) for reference/communication
  • Experience with performance optimization for large datasets
  • Understanding of accessibility best practices

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of senior-level frontend engineering experience
  • Expert-level React and TypeScript proficiency
  • Strong opinions and experience with React state management (Redux, Context, Zustand, etc.)
  • Advanced CSS skills with attention to pixel-perfect implementation
  • Experience building and maintaining component systems
  • Understanding of modern frontend build tools and development workflows
  • Experience translating wireframes/mockups into production code
  • Understanding of UX principles, user flows, and interaction design
  • Ability to make design decisions independently
  • Knowledge of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with PMs and stakeholders
