Position Details:
- Health Center Support Assistant (Temporary)
- Duration: 4 to 6 quarters (12 -18 months)
- 5-10 hours per week
- Hourly, Non-Exempt
- Fully onsite position in Bellevue, Nebraska
Position Overview:
As a teaching institution, our primary focus is to educate and train students and interns so they may enter the profession with the knowledge and skills required to perform clinical procedures independently, proficiently, and safely. It is the responsibility of the Health Center Adjunct Faculty Doctor to guide and instruct students and interns in all aspects of patient care, including history taking, physical examination, diagnostic reasoning, communication with patients, and ongoing care through adjustments and ancillary procedures as appropriate.
The Clinical Learning Support Assistant serves as a dedicated 1:1 resource for interns with approved accommodations. This role supports interns in providing patient care to both student and outpatient populations. The Assistant helps the intern develop accurate diagnoses, management plans, goals of care, and prognoses as documented in the Patient Diagnosis and Care Summary (PDCS) and related clinical records. In addition, the Assistant may provide hands-on support such as scribing patient notes, assisting with X-ray positioning, image capture, and other clinical documentation tasks as needed to ensure accurate and efficient care delivery.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist interns with disabilities with patient care including history, exams, x-rays & other imaging studies, adjustments, ancillary care, and referrals are performed within the accepted standards of care and in accordance with the law in the state of Nebraska, Federal Regulation, and the Life West Health Center policies and procedures.
- Must be available in the Health Center during scheduled hours
- Scheduled hours include any of the following: Scribing and assisting with patient care in Student and Outpatient Clinic; Intern Assessments; In-class instruction and assistance in our Clinically Inspired Learning program; assistance with X-ray Imaging; assistance with PDCS
- Assistance with RADCOW and Managed Cases
- Assistance with intern care that is provided on local service, including all of the aforementioned duties.
- Other duties, as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Terminal Degree (DC, PhD, MD, or other doctoral degree)
- Two years teaching, clinical or other relevant experience
- Must have familiarity with chiropractic procedures and medical terminology
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office & Google & Adobe PDF
- Familiarity with ChiroTouch is preferred, but training is available
