Job Summary:

Maintaining high standards of care by performing decontamination, preparation, sterilization and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment.   Responsible for ensuring equipment, instruments and supplies can be reused safely and in accordance with infection control and safety practices during all phases of the process. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Knowledge of applicable sanitary, infection control, and safety standards sufficient to be able to perform all assignments within the safety parameters. 
• Knowledge of processes, procedures, quality assurance, chemicals, and medical instruments sufficient to be able to decontaminate and sterilize equipment, supplies, and instruments. 
• Ability to lift and move trays of instruments and patient care equipment, i.e., IV pumps, monitors up to 25 lbs. 
• Skill in cleaning specialized equipment and utilizing approved PPE as appropriate.
• Inspects and assembles all equipment, instruments, scopes, and instrument sets following product recipe, verifies items are functional, free of debris and required per instrument recipe. 

 Requirements:

• CRCST or CBSPF Certification 
• CIS, CER Certification
• High School Diploma or GED/equivalent
• At least 1 year of hospital experience
