We are seeking a talented and experienced Director, Mission Solutions to join our Growth Team. The Director, Mission Solutions will serve as the architectural bridge between Business Development, Programs, and Engineering—ensuring that Intuitive Machines’ missions and opportunities are pursued, structured, and executed as cohesive, technically sound, and strategically aligned endeavors. This role translates strategic intent (“what we want to do”) into executable architectures (“how we do it”), guiding the company from opportunity identification through proposal, award, and delivery. The position is responsible for developing integrated mission and systems architectures that align with the company’s growth strategy, technical capabilities, and programmatic readiness.

Responsibilities:

1. Company-Level Mission Architecture

  • Partner with the CEO and Chief Growth Officer to translate enterprise vision and strategic priorities into actionable architectural pathways.
  • Develop “informational architectures” that map emerging markets, technologies, and customer needs to Intuitive Machines’ capabilities and growth areas.
  • Identify architectural alignment opportunities across product lines (propulsion, avionics, spacecraft, etc.) to drive synergy and efficiency.
  • Support long-range strategic planning by defining how Intuitive Machines’ systems, services, and technologies interconnect to deliver end-to-end mission solutions.

2. Growth-Level Capture Architecture

  • Collaborate with Growth and Business Development teams to architect capture strategies that align technical and programmatic approaches with customer needs.
  • Frame capture plans around clear value propositions and differentiators grounded in Intuitive Machines’ capabilities.
  • Develop reusable frameworks and templates that streamline how the company approaches different mission types or customer segments (NASA, DoD, commercial).

3. Opportunity-Level Solution Architecture

  • Define mission-level solution architectures for new pursuits, articulating how Intuitive Machines will technically and programmatically fulfill customer objectives.
  • Ensure alignment between technical concept, pricing strategy, and delivery approach within proposals and bids.
  • Serve as the bridge between capture and engineering teams, ensuring proposed solutions are both innovative and executable.

4. Engineering-Level Execution Architecture

  • Develop top-level engineering architectures aligned with proposed mission concepts to ensure a seamless handoff from proposal to execution.
  • Support engineering teams in translating mission-level concepts into system-level design frameworks, interfaces, and execution plans.
  • Maintain architectural consistency across pursuits and programs, ensuring execution aligns with enterprise mission architecture.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in aerospace mission design, systems architecture, or technical program leadership.
  • Demonstrated success bridging business strategy and technical execution for complex space systems or government programs.
  • Strong understanding of spacecraft systems, mission lifecycle, and multi-program integration.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at the executive and engineering levels.
  • Proven ability to define architectures that scale across multiple programs and customer segments.
