Music Assistant Position Details
Perham Living is seeking a creative and compassionate Music Assistant to engage residents through a variety of music-based activities. This individual will build positive, supportive relationships with residents while remaining mindful of their emotional and physical needs.
In this role, you will facilitate group activities, assist with 1:1 musical engagements, and collaborate with household staff to enhance our therapeutic music offerings. This position plays a vital part in enriching the daily lives of our residents and supporting their well-being through music.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and support a variety of music-related activities tailored to resident interests and abilities

Build meaningful relationships with residents, adapting to their changing preferences and needs

Provide musical therapy suggestions to household staff and help implement them when needed

Assist with transporting residents in wheelchairs to and from activities

Support flexible programming, including occasional evening and weekend events

Ability to safely transport and assist residents with mobility needs

Must pass a background study through the Minnesota Department of Human Services
Work Schedule

Part-time: 24–32 hours per biweekly pay period (flexible depending on applicant preferences and availability)

Typical hours: 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Flexible scheduling required, including occasional evenings and weekends based on program needs
