This role provides an excellent opportunity to grow in the audio-visual field while gaining hands-on experience in setting up, troubleshooting, and maintaining AV equipment across various settings and venues. This position frequently works with other departments and guests to ensure their technical needs are met.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mixing audio for a wide range of genres and styles of music as well as theatrical presentations in a live performance venue
- Assist in the planning and implementation of expansions to the OWA audio visual systems
- Help to identify opportunities for upgrading and updating the audio visual infrastructure
- Provide outstanding guest and team member service while performing the assigned duties, including interpreting and conveying information, answering questions and assisting guests, vendors, and associates with AV issues and concerns while at OWA
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair or arranges for the outside repair of all AV equipment as needed
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining the operation of OWA’s audio, video, and lighting systems as needed
- Provide first-line support, including on-the-spot diagnosis and rectification of minor faults and problems as they occur
- Maintain detailed inventory of all AV equipment and its current availability or status
- Assist in the design and operation of live event sound and lighting systems, as required
- Support the Load-in/Load-out process for third-party production companies during live events
- Create, update, and respond to support tickets in a timely manner
- Effectively and efficiently work under established time and cost constraints to meet requested deadlines for all audio-visual set-ups, connections, or repairs and other work-related projects
- Assists in protecting and safeguarding all company assets
- Perform duties with minimum supervision and make good judgement calls for system issues
- Communicate effectively with the AV Administrator to ensure tasks are prioritized and deadlines are met

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED, or enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within six (6) months from start date as a condition of continued employment
- Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
- Three (3) years of AV/Production experience in a professional environment
- Complete understanding of any given signal path, and the ability to troubleshoot both analog and network AVL systems
- Must have an understanding of DMX control systems
- Basic computer networking skills (e.g.) wired or wireless connectivity
- Knowledge of video formats (e.g.) standard definition, high definition
- Ability to use MS Office products: PowerPoint, Word, Excel
- Ability to identify audio, video, lightning, and communication cables
- Must have and maintain a valid state-issued operator driver’s license
- Willing to work odd and irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed for events
- Must be able to lift more than 50lbs as needed
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLSET:
- Knowledge of distributed audio, video, and lighting systems over IP
- Experience with:
- Live video production software (QLab, ProPresenter, Resolume, etc.)
- The Hog 4 lighting control platform
- Yamaha audio consoles
- Q-SYS and QSC products
