The Opportunity

At Hitachi Energy, we’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer – NPI Transformers to help shape the next generation of high-voltage transformer components. Based in our North America Regional Technology Center, this role is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge product development while collaborating with global teams and supporting our Alamo, TN manufacturing site.

How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead the design and development of high-voltage transformer components.
- Create and validate 3D models, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Conduct feasibility studies and performance simulations for new products.
- Coordinate prototyping and testing to verify new technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, production, and sales.
- Share R&D insights with global teams and support standardization efforts.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, standards, and customer needs.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s/PhD preferred).
- 2–5 years of experience in product development or mechanical design.
- Proficient in CAD tools (Creo preferred); experience with simulation tools is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
- Permanent work authorization in the U.S.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% to Alamo, TN if not local.
