Position Summary:
The Insurance Claims Administrator is responsible for managing all aspects of automotive insurance claims related to vehicle accidents, property damage, and liability matters. This role ensures claims are processed efficiently and accurately while maintaining compliance with legal requirements and company policies. The administrator serves as a key liaison between customers, insurance carriers, legal representatives, and internal departments to facilitate timely resolution of claims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage insurance claims for vehicle accidents, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
- Review repair estimates, photos, and reports to confirm claim validity and coverage.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for insurance adjusters, legal counsel, and customers throughout the claim process.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations as well as company policies regarding insurance and liability claims.
- Monitor claim status, follow up on outstanding items, and maintain detailed records in the claims management system.
- Work closely with managers, and executive team to ensure proper billing and claim reconciliation.
- Review subrogation, total loss, and diminished value claims for accuracy and resolution.
- Support the company’s legal team in preparing documents, responding to inquiries, and managing claim-related correspondence.
- Analyze claim trends and identify opportunities to improve internal processes and reduce risk exposure.
- Always maintain confidentiality of sensitive claim and customer information.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, legal studies, or related field preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in automotive claims administration, collision repair, or insurance processing required.
- Strong understanding of vehicle accident documentation, insurance procedures, and basic legal principles related to liability and property damage.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with claims management systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and composure when working with customers and insurance partners in stressful or sensitive situations.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with legal counsel or participating in litigation support related to insurance claims.
- Knowledge of automotive repair processes, estimating, and terminology.
- Familiarity with state-specific insurance and accident reporting requirements.
