Specific Job Functions:
- Create and maintain a work environment which promotes teamwork, performance, feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction.
- Ensure departmental practices are compliant with company policies and legal requirements.
- Oversee the assigned operational functions within the department consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the department, the division and the property.
- Effectively develop and mentor supervisory staff and hourly employees to ensure all departmental standards and goals are understood and met.
- Oversee hiring practices / standards and ensure training programs reflect appropriate employee development guidelines.
- Review completed work by the Staff Accountants for accuracy.
- Review for accuracy the financial information supplied by various operating departments.
- Preparation and / or review of Account Reconciliations, various tax and license filings and monthly financial statements.
- Review fixed asset data in financial system.
- Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department.
Qualifications |
- Bachelor’s Degree required with an emphasis in Accounting preferred.
- At least three years work experience in Accounting/Finance or related field required.
- At least three years’ experience working in an environment that requires enforcement of internal controls and application of generally accepted account principles to ensure the protection of assets and accurate recording and reporting of business transactions in financial systems a must.
- Pro-active work style that recognizes problems and looks beyond current practices to suggest solutions to maximize the effectiveness of the processes a must.
- Three years previous supervisory/management experience preferred.
- Must have, or be able to obtain, Gaming Registration.
- Must have professional appearance and demeanor.
- Able to work a varied shift to include weekends and/or holidays.
