Clinical Compliance Specialist

DonorConnect is seeking a full-time Clinical Compliance Specialist. The Clinical Compliance Specialist (CCS) plays a critical role in monitoring organizational adherence to all regulatory standards for donor evaluation, management, and procurement. The CCS collaborates with other members of the Quality Services team and organizational leadership to support the compliance program through continuous improvement methods. This position upholds quality assurance initiatives with focus on departmental strategic objectives, regulatory compliance, and DonorConnect policy and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Training/Education/Certification:

  • Prior experience in an organ procurement organization (OPO), transplant center, or healthcare organization
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, healthcare administration, health sciences, or public health required and/or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
  • Currently holds or completes within the first year of employment certification in AHQ/CPHQ, CHC, or Six Sigma Green Belt

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a compliance, regulatory, or healthcare quality environment
  • Familiarity with healthcare standards and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, OSHA, FDA, AATB, OPTN)
  • Proficient in regulatory analysis and impact assessments, technical writing and actionable policy development

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to interpret and adhere to industry-applicable regulations and standards
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail with excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships with staff, tissue processors, regulatory agencies, etc.
  • Serves as a mentor to junior team members and actively participates in CI initiatives for the department and organization
  • Proactive team player who upholds the core values of the organization Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to move up to 10 pounds at times with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Exposure to patient elements including communicable disease, bloodborne pathogens, and other common hazards of a clinical setting
  • Ability to reason logically and make sound decisions, to consider alternative and diverse perspectives, to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
