Position summary
The Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall daily operation of Food Bank’s Older Adult Center. This role involves managing program logistics, ensuring contract compliance, and delivering high-quality, engaging services to senior participants. The coordinator acts as the primary point of contact for clients and external partners, addresses client needs, and maintains all necessary program and participant data.
Program management and scheduling
- Develop, plan, and manage the day-to-day schedule of program activities and events, ensuring a varied and engaging calendar that meets the contract requirements while addressing the diverse needs of senior participants.
- Procure, schedule, and manage relationships with external workshop facilitators, instructors, and service providers.
- Oversee the daily execution of the congregate meal program, including monitoring meal service and ensuring meal service data is accurately recorded.
- Coordinate special events, trips, and holiday programming to enhance participant experience.
- Conduct outreach for community partnerships and new client recruitment.
Contract and grant compliance
- Monitor and ensure full compliance with all requirements of program, including program deliverables, participant eligibility, and reporting standards.
- Collect and maintain all required service data, including attendance, meal counts, and program participation, for accurate reporting internally and externally
- Prepare and submit regular reports, detailing program outcomes, performance metrics, and financial expenditures.
- Maintain accurate program and participant records in accordance with all contractual, legal, and privacy guidelines.
Client support and case assistance
- Serve as the first point of contact for client feedback, questions, and concerns, ensuring a responsive and supportive environment for all participants.
- Provide individual case assistance by helping seniors navigate and access benefits, entitlements, and other community resources.
- Proactively identify and respond to issues concerning the well-being of program participants, escalating concerns to management or social services when appropriate.
Administrative and other duties
- Manage program resources, monitoring expenses and ensuring efficient use of funds.
- Organize and maintain program files, databases, and general administrative records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 3-5 years of experience in program coordination, preferably within a social services or community-based setting.
- Demonstrated experience with municipal or government contract compliance and reporting.
- Experience in social service program delivery and client advocacy.
- Proficiency in modern business communication and record-keeping, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience coordinating programs for older adults.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus
Compensation for this role is $30/hr
