BHRS Companies is seeking a part-time Jacksonville, FL area based Accounting Assistant to support the corporate office's commercial operations.

What does the role pay?
This is a part-time (<32hours per week) northeast Florida area based role with a pay range of $20.00 to $23.00 per hour compensation. Hourly rate is to commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Role Summary
We are seeking a professional and organized Accounting Assistant to join our Finance & Accounting team. This part-time position reports to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for processing payments, reconciling accounts, and maintaining financial records. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial data, while also providing valuable insights and support to our stakeholders.
Overall Responsibilities:
- General Accounting:
- Processing invoices and vendor payments.
- Managing accounts receivable to ensure payments are received.
- Reconciling bank statements and accounts.
- Recording journal entries and managing the general ledger.
- Assisting with month-end close activities.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and files.
This position may be a developmental opportunity for certain candidates potentially leading to a full-time role as Staff Accountant, Accounting & Project Finance Specialist, or similar position. The ideal candidate is professional, reliable, and of good character who is seeking stability and job security.
Education and General Experience:
- An Associate's degree or equivalent is required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a bookkeeping role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient in accounting software (ie. QuickBooks, Sage, Xero)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in the construction industry (a plus).
