The Senior IT Desktop and Network Engineer will be responsible for providing comprehensive IT support, managing network infrastructure, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems. This role involves working on tickets and tasks assigned on JIRA service desk, administering Nutanix / VMware virtualization services, and supporting various on-prem Dell server models
What you will do
- Configure and maintain desktops and laptops using Microsoft Intune and Active Directory for device and user administration.
- Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot network switches and routers to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
- Administer and support VMware and Nutanix environments, including ESXi hosts, virtual machines, network virtualization, and VSAN configurations.
- Deploy and manage on-premises Dell PowerEdge servers ensuring reliability and scalability.
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux (CentOS, RHEL, Ubuntu) operating systems on both virtual and physical infrastructure.
- Manage Windows Active Directory, including domain controller configuration and support.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to DNS, DHCP, and LDAP authentication services.
- Configure and support print servers on Windows File Servers, including spooler service troubleshooting and printer/scanner issue resolution.
- Administer boardroom and video conferencing systems, ensuring seamless functionality during meetings and events.
- Manage user accounts, email services, and application support within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
Cloud Infrastructure (AWS)
- Provision and manage AWS services including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, and CloudFormation.
- Configure and maintain TLS certificates using AWS Certificate Manager (ACM) and ensure secure communication across services.
- Support & Manage Elastic Load Balancers (ELB/ALB) for high availability and traffic distribution.
- Monitor and troubleshoot cloud resources using AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Config.
- Monitor & Support containerized applications using ECS, EKS, or Docker on EC2.
- Support hybrid cloud environments and integrations with on-prem infrastructure.
- Travel quarterly to remote sites to provide hands-on IT support and ensure alignment with local infrastructure needs.
Who you are and what you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in IT system and network support.
- Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Proficiency in virtualization services and Dell server management.
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with JIRA service desk.
- Familiarity with DNS, DHCP, and LDAP services.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
