About the Role
The Town of Mooresville is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Administrative Assistant to join our Employee Experience (Human Resources) team. This position provides advanced administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources department and assists with employee programs, communications, and day-to-day operations.

Minimum Qualifications
- Provide administrative support to the HR department, assisting with daily operations and special projects.
 - Maintain and update employee files and databases with accuracy and confidentiality.
 - Assist with applicant screenings, onboarding, and New Hire Orientation coordination.
 - Draft reports, correspondence, and HR-related documents requiring research and attention to detail.
 - Serve as a liaison between HR, other Town departments, and the public—interpreting policies and procedures as needed.
 - Coordinate logistics for meetings, trainings, and departmental events.
 - Process invoices, reconcile financial transactions, and manage purchase card entries for the department.
 - Prepare requisitions and supporting documentation for contracts and purchasing.
 - Schedule and support professional development and employee engagement activities.
 - Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all matters involving employee information.
 
Other Qualifications
- Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field and two to four years of relevant administrative experience; OR a high school diploma/GED and four to six years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
 - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
 - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and comfort learning HR-related systems.
 - Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and provide excellent internal customer service.
