Repsol is seeking a Production Operations Supervisor to join the Production Operations team supporting our Eagle Ford Asset in the Unconventional Business Unit. This full-time exempt position will be based onsite from Three Rivers, Texas, reporting to the Production Operations Manager.
Summary:
The Production Operations Supervisor is responsible for coordinating daily operations in E&P assets, ensuring the optimal and continuous operation of wells and primary separation facilities (liquid/gas) under your responsibility, to meet the objectives of the asset's exploitation plan.
Supervise the area’s daily operations to ensure the safe and efficient operation of wellsites, pipelines and facilities to achieve the objectives of the asset’s production plan. The area must operate within a culture of Safety and Environment that ensures the integrity of people and facilities, and minimizing the impact on the environment, in accordance with the Company’s policies and standards. The position is responsible for the safety of the people, wells, and facilities under his/her supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the personnel who operate wells, pipelines and the facilities, ensuring operational continuity and production at optimal conditions.
- Adhere to and enforce all applicable company safety and operations policies and procedures for all personnel working in the assigned area.
- Lead the safety performance of the area with a focus on Permit to Work, energy isolation, MOC, SOP, and preventative observations with the objective of minimizing incident frequency and severity.
- Communicate and implement lessons learned and best practices related to safety.
- Maintain preparedness for emergency response and an onsite command or operations chief role.
- Ensure the correct data entry into the production reporting system with the appropriate deferment reasons.
- Coordinate the work activities amongst operations, maintenance, pipeline and well intervention.
- Responsible for the commissioning and start-up of new well pads.
- Maintain close communication with Drilling, Completions, and Facilities field teams for SIMOPS and the delivery of new production.
- Ensure the continuous injection of chemical products into the wells, pipelines, and facilities. Monitor the production and injection conditions of the wells and maintain a continuous dialogue with the Corrosion Engineer on any changes.
- Complete the required pigging requirements on pipeline within the area and support ILI activities.
- Request corrective maintenance of equipment and ensure the quality of the preventive and corrective maintenance carried out. Complete the preparation of equipment for maintenance (work permits) and abide by the Safety and Environment regulations.
- Work with the Production Engineers to identify well and facility optimization opportunities to maximize the production rates.
- Attain knowledge of the PSM facilities and successfully be named as qualified supervisor for those locations.
- Ensure that facilities maintain their PSM program in good standing.
- Lead, guide and mentor the operators and develop them into a high performing team.
- Present the performance of the area for production and operating costs to senior management.
- Working with supporting roles within the Business Unit to facilitate the ongoing production performance.
- Cultivate relationships with 3rd Party gatherers and processors to effectively manage the contracts and performance. Closely monitor the operating performance and engage with them as necessary.
- Be the Contract Holder for assigned contracts.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Must be fully authorized for employment in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship now or in the future. Additionally, we are not authorized for employment under OPT/CPT/F1 visa programs.
- Local residency with the availability to report to the field and/or office following a standard 40 hr M-F schedule.
- High School degree or equivalent.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Additional Required Experience:
- 15+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry with a progression through field operations and supervisory roles.
- 5+ years of experience supervising teams in a variety of environments and on different types of tasks.
- Strong experience in well operations, facilities operations (separation, dehydration, acid gas removal, compression), PSM facilities, and pipeline operations is required. Experience in maintenance, measurement or other operations support services will also be considered.
- Awareness and some experience with Artificial Lift Technologies including plunger lift, gas lift, jet pumps and rod pumps.
- Ability to interface with production and facilities engineering. Have participated in P&ID reviews and HAZOPS or PHAs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with hydrocarbon production applications (i.e. Energy Components)

Location & Schedule
- Exempt, full time salaried, based onsite out of our office in Three Rivers, Texas, commuting to the field (Three Rivers, TX region) as necessary. Local candidates residing within ~1 hr. commute are preferred and encouraged to apply. Position does not include relocation.
- Position will follow a standard typical M-F 40 hr. schedule during the initial training period; may be adjusted after this period depending on business needs and manager's assessment of individual development in the role.
