Role and Responsibilities
The Samsung Home Entertainment (HE) Division is seeking a visionary, highly strategic and results-driven Senior Director of Paid Media and Partnerships to lead the holistic paid media ecosystem across national, retail, and performance channels, while driving strategic brand and commercial partnerships. This leader will build and execute integrated strategies that connect Samsung’s brand moments to consumer purchase intent – maximizing efficiency, performance, and brand equity across every stage of the funnel.

Develop a holistic paid media strategy across National, Retail, and Performance Media to maximize sales both nationally, at strategic retail partners, and at Samsung.com
Build out a comprehensive partnerships strategy that embed Samsung Home Entertainment in culture, fuel consumer passions, and deliver against joint objectives
Collaborate and align plans with Executive Leadership, Integrated Marketing, Product Marketing, Corporate Marketing, Global Marketing, and other key stakeholders in a highly matrixed, global organization
Paid Media
Media Strategy and Planning
Develop and oversee the fully integrated, national paid media strategies aligned with the HE Division’s business objectives, national sales goals, and brand health goals.
Identify and understand key target audiences to build plans that will reach them effectively and efficiently
Leverage first party data as well as data partnerships to reach consumers at the right time with the right message
Work with leading partners to test never-been-done-before ways to connect with our consumers
Oversee planning, budgeting, and optimization of national paid media campaigns across all channels
Collaborate with the marketing and product teams to ensure paid media campaigns align with product launches, promotions, and seasonal events.
Channel Management
Oversee paid media campaigns across all channels, including traditional Broadcast/Cable, CTV/OTT, OLV, Display (Programmatic and Direct), DOOH, and Social.
Stay up to date on emerging media channels and technologies to identify new opportunities for effectively reaching our consumers
Campaign Planning and Optimization
Plan and execute national paid media campaigns, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to brand guidelines.
Optimize campaigns based on performance data, adjusting targeting, creatives, and bidding strategies to improve results.
Design and conduct in-market tests to identify the most effective campaign elements.
Retail Media
Retail Media Strategy Development
Align retail media efforts with the Home Entertainment Division's overall marketing and sales objectives.
Leverage research and MMM learnings to develop a comprehensive retail media strategy to maximize sales at key retail partners
Make media budget allocation recommendations to maximize national sales while simultaneously growing all accounts
Deliver account-specific strategic and executional guidance for each account marketing team to execute to maximize profitable sales at each retailer.
Retail Partner Collaboration
Build and maintain strong relationships with retail media platforms and key retail partners
Collaborate with retail partners to understand their advertising offerings, pricing models, and performance metrics.
Identify and prioritize retail media networks (e.g., Best Buy Ads, Amazon Advertising, Walmart Connect, etc.) based on their potential impact on both retailer and national sales.
In-Store and Online Integration
Ensure retail media efforts are integrated with in-store marketing strategies to create a seamless shopping experience
Collaborate with retail partners to leverage in-store promotions, displays, and events to drive online sales
Explore opportunities for cross-channel campaigns that combine online and offline marketing efforts
Performance Media
Performance Media Strategy Development and Execution
Align performance media efforts with the Home Entertainment Division's overall marketing and sales objectives
Develop and execute a comprehensive performance media strategy to maximize qualified traffic and sales on samsung.com
Oversee performance media campaigns across multiple lowest-funnel channels, including Paid Search (SEM, PMax, PLA, etc.), Social, and Display
Leverage advanced data capabilities to target high-propensity audiences and maximize conversion
Stay updated on emerging performance media channels and technologies to identify new opportunities for campaign expansion.
Campaign Planning & Optimization
Oversee the planning and execution of performance media campaigns, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to brand guidelines.
Optimize campaigns based on performance data, adjusting targeting, creatives, and bidding strategies to improve results.
Collaborate with the Ecomm and Corporate Marketing teams to align on overall s.com performance targets and initiatives
Provide weekly performance updates and optimization recommendations
Partnerships
Strategy and Planning
Develop and execute an insights-based partnership marketing strategy that will help deliver against brand, in-market, and financial objectives of the HE Division
Build a master partnership framework to strategically meet the short- and mid-term needs of the business
Evaluate global partnerships under development to assess if/how to leverage global partnerships in local marketing
Partnership Development
Identify and nurture relationships with key target partners that fulfill the strategic objectives of the HE lines of business.
Develop partnership frameworks for target partners to maximize the marketing value of the partnerships at minimal cost
Oversee the development of partnership pitches
Negotiate and secure partnerships
Marketing Initiative Development and Execution
Lead the development and execution of breakthrough partner marketing initiatives that will cut through the clutter, drive earned visibility, increase customer engagement, and ultimately drive sales
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Integrated Marketing, Product Management, and Corporate Marketing to ensure seamless integration of partnership initiatives across all of the relevant consumer and shopper touchpoints
Liaise with the partnership marketing teams across the various lines of business (Mobile, Appliance, etc.) and divisions (Samsung TV Plus, Services) to uncover opportunities to work together or lean on the influence of the broader Samsung organization to win more value from marketing partners
Program Management and Measurement
Manage and maintain existing partnerships, ensuring they remain aligned with business goals and deliver measurable results
Maintain ongoing partnership activity with studio, brand, and marketing partners to secure a constant stream of current video, static, and audio assets to be leveraged in advertising and marketing
Prepare comprehensive performance reports and analyze data to inform future partnership decisions and optimize marketing strategies.
Manage budget allocation for partnership marketing activities and ensure cost-effective execution of campaigns.
Oversee assigned budget and manage internal procurement and financial processes to ensure project approvals and financial compliance
Ensure that all financial, budgeting, forecasting, legal and compliance processes are being adhered
General Responsibilities
Budget Planning and Allocation
Create and manage media budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources across national, retail, and performance media as well as across channels within each to maximize ROI.
Monitor campaign performance and adjust budgets in real-time to maximize ROI.
Work with finance teams to forecast and justify budget requirements for upcoming campaigns.
Vendor and Agency Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors, agencies, and media partners
Perform on going evaluation of agencies based on their expertise, performance, and cost-effectiveness
Ensure agencies deliver on their commitments and provide regular updates on campaign performance
Performance Measurement and Reporting
Establish KPIs and metrics to measure the success of all national/retail/performance media and partnerships
Oversee the MMM, MTA, and advanced analytics tools to track campaign performance, inform budget allocation decisions, optimize performance, and report to the business
Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve future campaigns
Financial and Compliance Processes
Follow internal practices for finance, compliance, data security, privacy in all operations
Ensure all campaigns comply with relevant advertising regulations, industry standards, and brand guidelines
Mitigate risks associated with ad fraud, brand safety, and data privacy
Follow internal practices for data security and protection in paid media operations
Market Research and Competitive Analysis
Partner with the CSMI team to conduct market research to understand consumer behavior, preferences, and trends
Analyze competitors' paid media strategies to identify opportunities for differentiation and improvement
Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes that may impact paid media strategies
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Explore and implement innovative paid media tactics, such as interactive ads, augmented reality (AR) experiences, and influencer collaborations
Continuously seek ways to improve campaign efficiency, effectiveness, and ROI
Encourage a culture of experimentation and learning within the team
Skills and Qualifications
Requires a minimum 14 years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree, or 12 years and a Master's degree, or a PhD with 9 years-experience
Expertise in media management including managing critical issues
Experience developing creative to support key campaigns and communication touchpoints
Experience with partnership development and campaign management
Ability to communicate across all levels including C-suite
Expert in Microsoft Office tools
Must be data driven

The salary range for this role is expected to be between $[XX,XXX] and $[XX,XXX]. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
