Our Northeast Division is a well-respected and award-winning group where career development, training, and mentoring co-exist with diverse civil, environmental, water resources, and traffic/transportation projects in a fast-paced and challenging work environment.
This is a remote position; however, candidates must reside within a 60-mile radius of one of the following offices: Quincy, MA; Woburn, MA; or Providence, RI.
Your Responsibilities as a Scientist 1:
- Overseeing drilling, remedial system installations, and soil management activities.
- Assisting Project Manager with Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP) projects.
- Collect soil, water, air, and/or building material samples utilizing different sampling techniques.
- Assist with due diligence (ASTM Phase I) projects.
- Gather, analyze, and interpret data.
- Actively develop your own career growth with opportunities to assist with field and reporting tasks.
- Work directly with staff and management-level team members with field and reporting responsibilities.
What we're looking for:
- BS in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or other related field.
- 0-4 years of experience with environmental field sampling and data collection and/or relevant environmental activities.
- The ability to successfully multi-task, safety awareness, and a good record and understanding of safe work practices.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.
- Light construction experience/hands-on skills a plus.
- Valid driver's license, good driving history and reliable transportation are required.
- Previous experience working remotely preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
