Seasonal Toy Drive Coordinator bei CALVARY CHAPEL OF COSTA MESA

This is a seasonal position starting in November and is expected to continue until mid-January. 

KWAVE is a commercial radio station licensed with the FCC. Our mission is to faithfully proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ through solid Biblical teaching and preaching. Our goal is equipping the saints for the work of the ministry. We are a ministry of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa.

Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa is a Christ-centered ministry, led by the Holy Spirit. The ministry began with a church located in Costa Mesa, CA and has flourished and expanded into a multifaceted ministry which includes Christian Schools, Christian Radio Stations, Christian radio programs, Christian book distribution, and a Christian bookstore.

Job Summary

Each year, KWVE Radio partners with the Orange County Fire Authority for the Spark of Love Toy Drive, collecting and distributing thousands of toys to families in need during the holiday season. The Toy Drive Seasonal Coordinator plays a key role in overseeing day-to-day operations at the warehouse — ensuring donations are received, sorted, organized, and distributed efficiently and safely. This role is active and hands-on, involving frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Spark of Love Toy Drive warehouse during the holiday season.
• Coordinate, schedule, and communicate with volunteers assisting in sorting, organizing, and repackaging toys.
• Provide direction, training, and oversight for volunteers to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
• Manage volunteer schedules and maintain attendance and task records.
• Receive, sort, and repackage toy donations, ensuring each is checked, categorized, and organized for pickup by organizations.
• Maintain an orderly and safe warehouse environment for staff and volunteers.
• Set up cones and manage vehicle flow for toy donation drop-offs and organization pickups.
• Communicate and collaborate with staff, community partners, and volunteer teams.
• Monitor supply levels (bags, boxes, tape, etc.) and assist with reordering as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and leadership skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills — able to direct, manage, and motivate volunteers and partners.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, Outlook, and other basic computer programs.
• Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
• Experience in warehouse, logistics, or inventory management is preferred.
• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment, both indoors and outdoors.
• A heart for serving with various non-profits and community partners.
   

Position Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; bend; kneel; climb; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift 20 to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 50. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Specific hearing abilities required include soft and loud sounds.
