Title:               Associate/Assistant Athletic Trainers

Position:         Full-Time

Reports To:    Director of Athletics, Director of Sports Medicine

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assistant Sports Medicine department as needed for link between Wagner Athletics and the team orthopedic surgeons, referring injured athletes as deemed necessary to the appropriate physicians
  • Purchase all necessary equipment and supplies within yearly budget
  • Coordinate and provide supervision of athletic events, including all practices and games for assigned sports
  • Organize and submit secondary insurance claims for injuries sustained during intercollegiate competition
  • Comprehensive prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of all athletic injuries
  • Assist in compiling comprehensive and confidential record keeping, including injury reports, daily treatment logs, pre-participation histories and physicals, documentation or personal information
  • Daily maintenance and organization of the athletic training facilities
  • Maintain an appropriate certification and licensure

 

 

Brief Overall Description:

Perform prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of all athletics injuries while assisting the Sports Medicine Department as needed as the link between Wagner Athletics and the team orthopedic surgeons, and referring injured athletes as deemed necessary to the appropriate physicians.

 

The individual must be of high moral character and act in an ethical manner at all times.  It is expected that any violation of NCAA rules or regulations will be reported to the Director of Athletics for review.  Further, an employee who is found in violation of NCAA regulations shall be subject to disciplinary or corrective action as set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures.
