The Life Enrichment Manager is responsible for delivering Life Enrichment programming designed to meet and honor the physical, social, spiritual, sensory and psychological needs of all residents based on an assessment of their individual needs and interests. This position is responsible for advocating and promoting resident participation and choice.

Schedule:

  • Full-Time
  • Monday through Friday
  • Leader on duty weekend rotation every nine weekends
  • Paid holidays off
  • Free underground parking

Pay:

  • The targeted pay range for this job is $55,000 to $63,000 annually.
  • Ecumen considers a variety of factors when determining new hire pay including experience, qualifications, and, when applicable, certifications, licenses, and education.

Essential Job Responsibilities: 

  1. Develops and maintains a master calendar of events, outings and other recreational opportunities for residents.
  2. Plans and conducts individual and group activities, events, and outings to meet the assessed needs of residents and documents resident participation.
  3. Performs assessments (initial, quarterly, annual) of residents’ recreational needs and completes required sections of MDS, assists in the development of care plan to meet those needs, and participates in resident care conferences.
  4. Develops and maintains policies and procedures pertaining to Life Enrichment and communicates these to life enrichment staff and other departments.
  5. Provides transportation for residents to outings using community vehicle.
  6. Empowers residents to develop interpersonal relationships, socialize effectively and develop confidence to participate in individual and group activity programming.
  7. Responsible for department budget and ensuring availability of supplies.
  8. Maintains an interdisciplinary focus, being mindful of the needs and operations of other departments. Communicates with other departments in advance of events that will require their assistance and participation.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years of related experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of the field of geriatrics and the interpersonal, spiritual and psycho-social needs of older adults.
  • Valid Drivers License, proof of insurance and satisfactory motor vehicle record
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to:  Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident’s Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Activity Director Certification through a recognized accrediting body
  • Previous experience working with older adults
  • ADC, ACC or CTRS preferred but not required
