Principal Duties and Responsibilities
1. Reads blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks and waste and drainage systems.
2. Works in cooperation with other trades and laborers to ensure that all specifications, legislation and policies are met, to ensure efficient completion of any project.
3. Plans ahead two weeks and orders materials accordingly.
4. Connects tubing and fittings using solder paste, or solder and torch, to form sewer, drain, and water lines.
5. Directs workers engaged in preassembly and installation of wall systems, such as risers, air chambers, and shower assemblies.
6. Selects and inserts precut pieces of copper tubing and fittings in holes and connects tubing and fittings using solder paste, or solder and torch, to form drain and water lines.
7. Conducts weekly job safety meetings.
8. Develops and maintains good working relationship with owner/site supervisor/maintenance director.
9. Ensures all water supply networks and waste and drainage systems are installed, repaired, and maintained to meet all standards of building codes and safety.
10. Verify subordinate timecards for accuracy.
11. Attends weekly jobsite meetings with GC’s and coordinates with the GC’s site supervisor.
12. Informs Field Supervisor of changes, upset conditions or emergencies within the department.
13. Ensures worksite is kept clear and clean from debris and trash,
14. Keeps necessary records of installations and repairs performed on equipment to comply with government requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures.
15. Completes all required paperwork using basic math skills as needed.
16. Represents Capstone’s Mission, Vision, and Values in company’s marketplace.
Required Education/Experience:
• High School diploma or equivalent and 5 years of trade school or an equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.
Competencies:
• Communicate effectively with internal team and customers.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Diagnose and resolve problems, follow written and verbal instructions, read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material, and perform math.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Valid driver's license
Physical Demands
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including electronic and diagnostic tools, recovery equipment, and various other HVAC equipment. Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials. This position requires: stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, seeing, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical demand requirements are at levels of those of medium work.
