Job Summary:
The HR Generalist will serve as the on-site human resources representative for the Johnstown branch, supporting day-to-day HR operations and ensuring alignment with company-wide HR strategies and compliance standards. This role will act as a resource for employees and managers on a wide range of HR matters including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits, and performance management.
Essential Job Functions:
· Provides administrative and clerical support to Human Resources department, including but not limited to recruiting, onboarding, employee/labor relations, compensation, benefits, training, etc.
· Assist with records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations.
· Serve as the on-site HR representative and liaison between the Johnstown facility and Maryland HQ.
· Support employee relations, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures.
· Manage new hire orientation and off boarding processes.
· Provide guidance on HR policies, labor laws, and best practices.
· Coordinate employee training, development, and performance review processes.
· Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
· Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
· Assist with safety initiatives and workers’ compensation reporting as needed.

Requirements
Qualifications/Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
· 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
· Solid knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Ability to work independently with guidance from a remote HR team
· Experience with HRIS systems (Paylocity, Deltek Costpoint) and Microsoft Office Suite
· PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus
Physical Requirements:
· Occasionally will need to lift/and or move up to 10 lbs.
· Occasional Travel may be required.
· This is largely a sedentary role; This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
