About the Department
The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Cyber Security Engineer I in the Department of Information Technology. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Under direct supervision, performs monitoring and analysis necessary for the operation and support of information security systems and processes; conducts analysis and response to monitored events; maintains documentation for information security systems and processes; and performs related duties as assigned.

Salary and Benefits
- Competitive Salary Range of $73,013.53 - $111,329.39 Annually; salary placement for non-represented positions is based on a comprehensive compensation review and takes into consideration the candidate's qualifications as well as internal equity

Position Duties
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related field
- Two (2) years of information technology experience which included support, administration, and implementation of a combination of at least two of the following: enterprise level end-user technologies, information security technologies, networking, or server administration with one or more operating systems
- Note: An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered
- Must pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check, and a wants/warrants check
- Must complete Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification within six months of hire/transfer and be recertified every two years. Must maintain certifications in NCIC/NCJIS as a condition of continued employment.
- Desirable: Possession of any of the following certifications:
- Network+
- Security+
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
- GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
- GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
- Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
