Senior Engineering Manager

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to guide our Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) team. In this role, you will carry out the vision, implementation, and continuous improvement of internal platforms that support our engineering teams in building, deploying, and operating software efficiently at scale.
You will play an important leadership role, combining technical knowledge with effective people management, and fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented engineering culture. Your guidance will help improve developer productivity, platform reliability, and engineering speed across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Guidance & Development
    Support and grow a team of engineers focused on internal developer tools, platforms, and automation. Encourage collaboration, ownership, continuous learning, and development. Conduct regular check-ins and career development conversations.

  • Technical Direction
    Guide architectural decisions and provide hands-on support for scalable internal platforms including continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, developer portals, infrastructure automation, service discovery, and monitoring tools.

  • Platform Strategy & Collaboration
    Work with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, Security, Operations) to define and prioritize platform capabilities that improve developer workflows and platform reliability.

  • Process & Culture Building
    Promote best practices in software engineering, DevOps, and agile methodologies. Use metrics and feedback to measure platform adoption, performance, and developer satisfaction.

  • Innovation & Evolution
    Keep up with industry trends and emerging technologies to evolve platform capabilities and tooling to meet current and future engineering needs.

Qualifications

  • Experience
    Extensive experience in software engineering (typically 14+ years), including at least 3 years in a leadership role managing platform or infrastructure teams.

  • Technical Skills
    Strong foundation in internal developer platforms, CI/CD systems, cloud infrastructure (Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure), container orchestration (Kubernetes), infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible), and developer tooling.

  • Leadership Abilities
    Ability to support and grow high-performing teams. Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Problem Solving
    Experience solving complex technical challenges and improving developer workflows at scale.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    Experience working with product managers, security, and operations teams to deliver impactful platform solutions.

Additional Experience (Helpful)

  • Experience in large-scale Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) or enterprise environments

  • Understanding of microservices architecture and service mesh

  • Experience with site reliability engineering (SRE) practices

  • Interest in improving developer experience and internal community building
