Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Tradition Campus Student Services Director. This role answers incoming calls, greets visitors, and manages reception desk; guides prospective students through admissions process; responds to all requests for information concerning military and veterans’ affairs, certifies qualified veterans, and invoices military tuition assistance.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist the university in implementing the Statement of Purpose.
- Assist the university in implementing the long-range institutional and financial plans.
- Greet and assist guests on the Tradition Campus.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and direct calls to the appropriate office.
- Assist with campus mail delivery by placing incoming mail in faculty and staff mailboxes each day and with transporting mail to and from Hattiesburg campus.
- Process and input necessary student admissions paperwork and communicate with departments regarding student files when necessary.
- Communicate regularly with Tradition student applicants and prospective students using various media.
- Develop/assist with program goals and objectives; prepare and submit relevant reports when necessary.
- Coordinate and manage veteran/military student services including admissions and academic advising.
- Coordinate activities with U.S. military education services to ensure compliance with tuition assistance.
- Consult with faculty and other staff to assist students in academic/student services or other areas as needed.
- Participate in campus events and represent the university to prospective students.
- Participate in an annual evaluation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Student Services Director or Vice President, Tradition Campus.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Excellent customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in higher education setting
- Experience in VA compliance and certification
- Experience in college or university admissions
Physical Demands
- Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting, and to use standard office equipment including a computer
- Must have vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
- Must have the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Must have strength and agility to move files, paper boxes, and minor office equipment
- Must be able to maintain office hours and perform duties in an on-campus setting
