Who We Are
Golden Queen Mining Co., LLC (the “Company”) operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore.

Who You Are
You are a results-driven project management professional with strong technical and leadership skills, capable of coordinating mining infrastructure projects from planning through execution. You thrive in a collaborative environment and can balance regulatory compliance, safety, and operational efficiency. You have a strong understanding of mining operations, environmental standards, and construction management principles. This is a safety-sensitive position. As the Project Manager, you report to the General Manager and work closely with Engineering, Environmental, Process Plant, Heap Leach and Operations teams to ensure the successful completion of the heap leach expansion project.
What You Do
- Lead the planning, design, permitting, and construction of the heap leach pad expansion project in compliance with California mining and environmental legislation.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and execution plans, ensuring alignment with operational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate engineering design reviews, geotechnical assessments, and construction quality control to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with permit conditions.
- Manage contractors and consultants, including engineering, procurement, bid evaluation, contract administration, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure adherence to all environmental permits, safety regulations, and reporting obligations under MSHA, California and the Regional Environmental and Water Quality regulators.
- Collaborate with environmental and regulatory personnel to prepare and submit project documentation, including environmental impact updates and compliance reports.
- Facilitate communication and coordination between internal departments, process plant, heap leach, operations, maintenance, and environmental to minimize disruption and ensure operational readiness.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain scope, cost, and schedule integrity.
- Prepare progress reports and present updates to senior leadership and external stakeholders as required.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all project activities.
- Participate in interdisciplinary teams to address challenges and find innovative solutions.
- Provide leadership, oversight, optimization and development of the Golden Queen aggregate business.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Civil, Mining, Environmental, or related discipline required; a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset.
- 7+ years of project management experience, within the mining, with a focus on heap leach expansion.
- Proven experience managing large-scale earthworks or heap leach construction projects from design through commissioning.
- Strong understanding of California mining, environmental, and safety regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage contractors, budgets, schedules, and regulatory interfaces.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient with project management softare and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with AutoCAD, GIS, and scheduling tools such as MS Project, Primavera is an asset.
- Ability to work effectively in the field and in an office environment, balancing multiple priorities in a dynamic mining operation.
