Psychosocial Educator

Position Summary


The Psychosocial Educator plays a key role in developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for Unity’s psychosocial team. This position identifies learning needs, promotes best practices, ensures quality standards, and serves as a mentor and resource to staff. The Psychosocial Educator also supports quality improvement initiatives and fosters a positive, collaborative team culture aligned with Unity’s mission and values.


Schedule: Full-time Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., with occasional weekend hours. Weekends are about every 10–12 weeks, and the administrative call starts at 5:00 p.m. on Friday and ends at 7:00 a.m. on Monday. On-call rotation occurs every 3–4 weeks and includes one weeknight of administrative call from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. One holiday rotation every other year. 

  

Key Job Duties: 


Assessments:


1. Meet with prospective clients to assess home environment and care needs.

2. Provide an explanation of services offered through the Care Companions program to prospective clients and their supports.

3. Review and secure necessary signatures to establish client/agency relationship.


Scheduling:

  1. Schedule and coordinate      in-home assessments, meetings, and trainings.
  2. Review and manage      staff/client schedules and timecards, daily.

Clerical: 


1. Initiate and maintain communication with both new and existing referral sources.

2. Execute general administrative and clerical tasks as assigned by Care Companions Leader.

3. Input data accurately into relevant systems, generate required reports, and conduct audits in accordance with established procedures.

4. Collaborate with the Care Companions Leader to coordinate and prepare materials necessary for internal team meetings.

5. Provide support across multiple functions of the revenue cycle process, including but not limited to billing, claims submission, payment posting, and account follow-up activities.

6. Manage the distribution, tracking, and collection of patient experience and satisfaction surveys to support quality improvement efforts.


Orientation:


1. Assist in the coordination and execution of all activities related to the onboarding of new staff members.

2. Schedule applicant interviews, new employee orientation sessions, and subsequent orientation reviews in alignment with organizational timelines and protocols.


 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Highly motivated and organized with a strong attention to detail and analytical skills to help solve problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment. 
  • Ability to keep up to date with policies, practices, and regulations.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and capable of dealing with deadline pressures.
  • Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations as well as policies and procedures of Unity.
  • Satisfy mandatory training requirements regarding local, state, and federal regulations and/or Unity’s policies and procedures.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned. 
  • Ability to adjust to frequently changing demands.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.

Requirements

  

1. Bachelor’s degree in a Social Services related field (Social Work, Theology, etc.) Master’s degree in Social Services related field preferred.

2. If a Social Worker, appropriate licensure to practice in the State of Wisconsin, if applicable. (CSW, CAPSW, CISW, or LCSW)

3. Minimum of 2 years project participation and execution, or leadership experience.

4. Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and proof of current automobile insurance coverage.
