The University of Louisville seeks an experienced and dynamic leader to serve as Director of Financial Aid Management within the Student Financial Aid Office. This pivotal role provides high-level oversight of institutional aid programs, ensuring the effective administration of over $130 million annually to more than 12,500 students. This role is also instrumental for system implementation of all financial aid programs, working closely with the Senior Director of Financial Aid and the Workday Financial management platform on initial set-up, budget reconciliation and reporting of over $350 million annually from federal, state, institutional and other sources.
Position Overview
The Director is responsible for the oversight, supervision, and management of all aspects of institutional aid, ensuring compliance with federal, state, private, and institutional regulations. The role requires strategic leadership, fiscal accountability, and strong collaboration across campus units to align institutional aid with university priorities. The Director will also lead the office in all aspects of fiscal operations and budget management, from technical award set-up in PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, the interface to Workday Financials, and the reporting and reconciliation that spans hundreds of financial programs/accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the administration of institutional aid programs, including application, awarding, disbursement, and communication with scholarship recipients.
Provide leadership for a complex team managing scholarships, donor-based funds, corporate partnership awards, and programs administered through external agencies.
Partner with the Senior Director of Financial Aid on budget management and aid allocation aligned with strategic enrollment goals.
Serve as a subject matter expert for Workday Finance, supporting financial reconciliation and system utilization.
Monitor compliance, analyze data, and serve as a primary point of contact for aid-related problem resolution.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven experience in financial aid, scholarship administration, or higher education financial management.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and institutional aid regulations and compliance.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage large, complex teams.
Expertise in fiscal management, data analysis, and student-centered communication.
Familiarity with Workday Finance or comparable financial management systems preferred.
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
