Job Summary

JOB GOAL: Under the direction of a Family Services Administrator, efficiently and effectively lead the daily operation of the SEED program at the assigned site including but not limited to: collaboration with school site staff for intervention and enrichment activities, health and safety of children, program development and implementation, classroom management, SEED site staff collaborations, and parent/customer relations.

Valid CPR and First Aid Certifications from an American Heart Association or American Red Cross approved ONLY , in-person course is required upon hire. No online certificates will be accepted.

Requirements / Qualifications

Complete Online EDJOIN application. Professional References must be from an evaluating supervisors, manager, or equivalent (2 are required). Please read entire job description and the required Knowledge, Abilities, Experience, and Essential Functions prior to applying for this position. Training and Experience 1. Education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade. 2. Successful completion of fifteen (15) or more early childhood education units including nine (9) core units, and three (3) units in curriculum (can include school age curriculum). 3. Two (2) years of paid experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting or any combination of training experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities may be considered. 4. Must obtain and maintain Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or above within six (6) months of hire. 5. One (1) or more years’ experience in clerical work desired. 6. Good work history and attendance. 7. Current First Aid Certificate and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.

Salary Info

MVUSD Classified Salary Range 17 $2,821,68 - $3,429.75 (Most likely the 7% Promotion Rate Policy will determine your placement/step.)

In order to be eligible for this position you MUST have a Child Development Associate Teacher Permit OR qualify to apply for one. To qualify for the Child Development Associate Teacher Permit, individuals must satisfy all of the requirements listed below: 1. Complete a minimum of 12 semester units of course work in early childhood education or child development (excluding field work), including at least one course of at least three semester units in each of the following core areas: - Child/human growth and development. - Child, family, and community, or child and family relations. - Programs/curriculum. 2. Complete at least 50 days of experience in an instructional capacity in a child care and development program, working at least three hours per day within the last two years. This experience must be verified by submitting an original letter from the employer on official letterhead. School-Age Emphasis under this option requires that 6 of the 12 semester units in early childhood/child development be in school age course work.
