The mission of Community Action Programs Cayuga/Seneca (CAP) is to respectfully assist people to achieve and sustain self-sufficiency through direct services, education, and community partnerships.
CAP is looking for a Domestic Violence Safe Dwelling Advocate. The DV Safe Dwelling Advocate provides comprehensive support and direct services to victims of domestic violence and their children through the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) program. This role serves as a liaison between victims and law enforcement, the courts, social service agencies, and other community partners to ensure coordinated and effective assistance. Additionally, the DV Safe Dwelling Advocate is responsible for overseeing the safe dwelling, ensuring that residents’ needs are met, and that all individuals adhere to program guidelines and safety protocols.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in human services or related field with one year of related work experience required.
- Family Development Credential is desired.
- Knowledge and understanding the nature of domestic violence, and the problems and needs of victims.
- Must have reliable transportation and a clean and valid NYS driver’s license.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position scheduled for 35 hours per week, with an hourly rate of $20.41.
