Olympic College is seeking a Program Specialist 2 for the Welcome Center. This position assists new and prospective students from the point of inquiry through enrollment at the college so they can be successful and pursue their educational goals. Navigators provide high-quality services and support to prospective, enrolled, and returning students in a friendly, fast-paced, customer-focused environment. The Navigator will serve as a central point of contact, handling general to complex inquiries, transactions, and customer service questions primarily face-to-face, virtually, by email, text messaging, and phone. The Navigator will handle complex, cross-departmental student issues related to admissions, financial aid, records, and registration. They will work effectively across campus to facilitate resolution for students, considering the circumstances involved. Position is designed to increase enrollment and retention in the college while decreasing the number of students who apply to the college and never register. The employee will interpret and apply knowledge of applicable policies and procedures in providing courteous and professional customer service and in the resolution of inquiries, issues, and complaints.

Position Duties

  • Have extensive contact with prospective and current students, providing the highest level of customer service face-to-face, virtually, by email, texting, other web-based methods, and phone calls regarding information and interpretation of college policies and activities related to enrolling at the college.
  • Provide information and assistance on FAFSA completion, financial aid requirements, funding resources, payment deadlines, and assist students in resolving barriers and evaluating alternatives.
  • Receive, track, and follow up with prospective, admitted, and current students via phone, email, chat, text, using Salesforce CRM, Signal Vine and direct mail inquiries relating to enrollment.
  • Support outreach and communication efforts off campus and at college events 
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of customer service experience.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience aiding customers regarding inquires, complaints, and problems.
  • Experience working in Student Services, Financial Aid, Admissions and/or Registration and Records.
  • Experience drafting communications
  • Experience with Customer Relations Management systems 
  • Dual language skills, Spanish preferred

Please note that we are unable to sponsor visas for this position.  Only candidates who are currently authorized to work in the United States will be considered.

This is a full-time classified position scheduled to work 40 hours a week, with a salary range of $43,716 - $58,380 annually. All classified positions will start their salary at Step A, when you have completed six months of probation, you will receive a 5 percent pay increase. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and this position is covered by the Washington Public Employees Associate (WPEA) Union. Classified positions qualify for the following benefits:

  • Prior to a new hire, a background check, including criminal record histor,y will be conducted.
