What Will You Be Doing?

The Specialist, Learning & Development is responsible for developing, implementing and administering high-quality, impactful training programs and materials for the Company.  As part of their responsibilities, this role will host our new hire orientation program, onboarding course and work diligently to keep the content fresh and engaging.  They’ll also help manage the HR training activities throughout the organization. 

**This work schedule  for this role is designated as hybrid, working in the office 4 days a week and is not be eligible for fully-remote work**

Essential Functions

  • Design, develop, coordinate and facilitate, as necessary, training materials to meet corporate objectives using a variety of delivery systems including traditional and nontraditional methods and multi-media.
  • Modify and maintain new hire orientation presentation to keep the experience fresh and engaging.  Coordinate and conduct orientation for all new hire employees; this includes creating the presentation and requires the ability to be the SME for the training of all orientation topics.
  • Coordinate and enable online and in-person HR training resources for team members across the organization.
  • Act as a centralized point of contact for questions related to HR/employee training & development resources.
  • Manage a Learning Management System (LMS) for the company to monitor compliance and organizational hierarchy.
  • Work with the HR Business Partners and the Manager, Learning & Development to analyze training needs by role, department or individual and assist in sourcing external content or developing internal content to help close any skills/knowledge gaps that may exist. 

Other Functions

  • Manage special projects and committees as needed.
  • Act as a liaison for training to ensure standardization and consistency within the company.
  • Serve as an internal training consultant for company.

Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma required
  • Previous human resources experience strongly preferred, with a focus on learning & development
  • Experience in training content creation based on Adult Learning Theory strongly preferred
  • Previous experience with Learning Management Systems strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Competent in interpersonal communications, collaboration, critical-thinking and problem solving
  • Moderate to advanced computer application “user” skills such as database, spreadsheet applications and PowerPoint presentations
  • Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills
  • Proven ability in the development and implementation of training solutions
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple, concurrent projects and priorities
  • Ability to demonstrate strong instructional and facilitation skills
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly with persons in all levels of the organization (written and verbal) regardless of the message
  • Self-directed and independent work habits
     

    Equipment Operated

    • Standard office equipment, including PC, copier, fax machine, printer
    • LCD, visual/audio training equipment

    Work Environment

    • Typical office environment, adequately heated and cooled
    • Standard office hours, but may require occasional early mornings or weekend work
    • May require some overnight travel <20%

    Physical Effort

    Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.

    Supervision Received

    General Supervision:  The incumbent performs a variety of routine work within established policies and procedures and receives detailed instructions on new projects and assignments.

    Hourly - $25.00 - $29.00
