About the Role:
7:00pm-7:00am
As a Registered Nurse in our Health Care Services team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care during night shifts, ensuring continuous monitoring and support for patients with diverse medical needs. You will be responsible for providing direct patient care, including wound management and telemetry monitoring, to promote recovery and prevent complications. Educating patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care will be a key component of your role, empowering them to make informed decisions. You will advocate for patients' rights and needs, collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. Ultimately, your expertise in medical and surgical nursing will contribute to improved patient outcomes and a supportive healing environment throughout your shift responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Completion of an accredited nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience in direct patient care, preferably in medical/surgical or telemetry settings.
- Ability to work night shifts as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Advanced certifications such as Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN) or Telemetry Nursing Certification.
- Experience working with nurse practitioners and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Wound care certification (e.g., Wound Care Certified - WCC).
- Previous experience in patient education and advocacy roles.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive direct patient care during night shifts, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications.
- Perform wound care management, ensuring proper treatment and documentation of healing progress.
- Monitor patients using telemetry equipment to detect and respond to cardiac and other physiological changes promptly.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment procedures, and self-care techniques to support recovery.
- Advocate for patient needs by communicating effectively with healthcare team members and participating in care planning.
- Maintain accurate and detailed nursing documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Assist in medical and surgical nursing procedures, supporting physicians and nurse practitioners as needed.
