The Senior Applications Engineer for Digital and Interface ICs will drive technical engagement and product adoption for our digital and interface integrated circuit portfolio. This role requires deep technical expertise, customer-facing skills, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, marketing, and sales teams to define, support, and launch competitive products for automotive, industrial, and consumer markets.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Engagement & Technical Support
- Serve as the primary technical interface for key customers, understanding their system architectures and performance criteria.
- Guide customers in integrating digital and interface ICs into their designs, providing hands-on support and troubleshooting.
- Develop and deliver technical training and collateral for internal teams and external partners.
- Product Definition & Development
- Capture and translate customer requirements into new product definitions and detailed datasheet specifications.
- Collaborate with design and test teams to ensure product features meet market needs and performance targets.
- Support evaluation and validation of new products, including reference designs and solution kits.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with marketing, sales, and field applications engineering (FAE) teams to develop strategies for product promotion and customer engagement.
- Provide technical input for marketing and sales strategies, including competitive analysis and positioning.
- Strategic Planning & Market Intelligence
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities in digital and interface ICs.
- Develop and maintain cross-functional lists of customers and contacts for long-term support in target markets.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in applications engineering, preferably with digital and interface ICs.
- Broad technical knowledge of digital architectures, interface protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet), and mixed-signal design.
- Familiarity with circuit design, PCB layout, and embedded systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Self-driven, motivated, and able to generate new ideas and approaches to engage customers.
- Willingness to travel (domestic and international as needed).
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting automotive, industrial automation, or telecom applications.
- Basic knowledge of IC packaging and electronic measurement techniques.
- Project management experience and ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
