Description
PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is currently looking for a Medical Administrative Assistant to work Full Time in the Medical Department at the Charles County Detention Center located in LPlata, MD. In this role, the Medical Administrative Assistant will provide clerical support to the PrimeCare Medical staff.
Job Responsibilities:
- Handles incoming phone calls from other departments and facilities.
- Schedules all outside appointments and consults
- Orders all supplies for the Medical Department
- Collects data for end of month reports
- Filing, faxing, and data entry.
- Scanning documents into the computer.
- Strong computer skills with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Maintaining a staff log.
- Scheduling transports.
- Scanning medical files and responding to record requests.
- Working closely with the management team in the medical department to manage daily tasks.
This position provides a 2-week orientation period where you will be training on the job and shadowing with the nursing staff.

- Base rate is $20.00 to $23.00 per hour.

- Generous PTO package provided. Paid time off will accrue for a maximum accrual of nine (9) days (or 72 hours) per year. In addition, you will also receive six (6) floating holidays, pro-rated within your first year of employment as dictated by your effective hire date. You are also eligible to accrue sick and safe leave benefits under Maryland’s Healthy Working Families Act (i.e., MDSSL). MDSSL accrues at a rate of one (1) hour for every thirty (30) hours of straight time worked, for a maximum annual accrual of sixty-four (64) hours.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years office administrative support in medical setting preferred .
- Strong computer skills (including Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Strong organizations skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with medical terms and abbreviations preferred
- Ability to work with confidential matters and information is required
- Strong communication skills; both verbal and written and an ability to interact well with others
- Must be organized with the ability to multitask and have a willingness to work
- Must be able to deal with difficult people/situations in a calm polite manner
