Hill House Home is seeking an experienced Concept Designer to join our New York team, reporting directly to the Design Director. This role is responsible for leading the brand’s direction of new concepts and style ideas in reaction to current and upcoming market trends. This is a unique role to incubate and influence the overall brand direction and ensures initial desired vision remains intact throughout the seasonal development. This role will also support our Design Director across our apparel/non-apparel/store design/marketing as well as any other areas with creative direction.
What You’ll Do:
- Create trend forecasts for style, print and color direction for the brand.
- Lead the conceptual direction at the start of each season through execution.
- Support Design Director with all other brand relevant areas with conceptual ideation.
- Ability to cross manage design team and print team CADs, sketches and presentations ensuring concept is intact.
- Develop and manage digital and physical assets to support the creative design process and assist merchandising/ planning teams with seasonal line planning.
- Use merchandising line plans to create design boards for the design team and prepare digital/physical assets for leadership reviews.
- Serve as the internal knowledge leaders for product information and keep the team aligned with industry trends.
- Participate in design reviews, kick-offs, and marketing meetings to ensure alignment across teams.
- Work closely with partnerships to develop campaign assets, and serve as a liaison between the brand and talent when necessary
- Curate inspiration for the design team using reference books, periodicals, vintage garments, and other materials.
- Coordinate sourcing and inspiration trips/visits to continually expand on brand identity and source reference materials
- Manage schedules and budgets for travel and reference material acquisition
- Demonstrate ability to affect key decisions within the Cross-Functional team
- Partner with Merchandising leadership to assure brand right color and theme flow, adding and adjusting color and print post line coordination processes.
- Partner with Marketing in order to influence marketing POV and creative solutions
- Partner with Design on print, pattern and color to meet all line plan and development needs
Who You Are:
- 8-10 years of experience in design, textile development or direction.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, Art, Illustration or related field.
- Strong visual, verbal and written skills.
- Innate fashion sense with the ability to adapt to brand/customer needs
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.
- Conceptual forecasting experience is a plus.
Compensation for the role will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience. The estimated annual compensation for this role is $90,000-100,000 +
