Riverside Research’s Secure and Resilient Systems group is seeking a dynamic full-time summer intern in Beavercreek Ohio. As a key member of our Secure and Resilient Systems team, the intern will contribute to our Internal Research and Development (IR&D) program exploring new applications and paths to transition our technologies to the warfighter. The intern will interface with team members across Riverside Research locations.
The intern will work with experts in the field of language-theoretic secure parsers to explore the world of formal-methods enabled parsing. This will include learning about internal tools, techniques, and best practices for development and deployment of these systems alongside exploration of where we can take them next. The intern will play a vital role in internal research on our security engineering team and get to interact and contribute to our fast-paced research environment. They will gain exposure to many domains of DoD research including input handling security, protocol design, effective demonstrations, and resilient system design.
Responsibilities:- Explore, develop, test, and deploy formal-language-enabled secure parsers on warfighter systems
- Explore new paths, ideas, and opportunities to demonstrate Riverside’s secure parsing capabilities
- Build tools and/or capabilities in languages like C/C++, Python, etc.
- Explore the tenets of language theoretic security, and the tools associated with it
- Assist in creating innovative security solutions to security engineering challenges
- Collaborate with team members on debugging programs, designing systems, reviewing papers, etc.
- Participate in relevant internal meetings
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, cybersecurity, or related field of study
- Some familiarity with programming languages
- Self-driven with strong analytic, inferencing, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills
- Must be a US citizen
Desired Qualifications
- Some experience in C/C++ and/or Python
- Some experience with Linux development environments
- Desire to be exposed to the following domains: cyber security, security software engineering, open architecture security, and/or general software engineering
- Desire to learn technical skills alongside how the business operates
- Ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff and peers in the group and across Riverside Research
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
