FinTech Futures is seeking a talented, energetic, and self-motivated Reporter to join our editorial team in London. We’re looking for a skilled journalist to discover, define, and track the stories emerging from inside the financial services and technology industry.

In this role, you will dig for the stories behind the press releases, research the topics, and source commentary from industry experts. You will need to be able to work well under pressure, be immune to jargon, and produce crisp, compelling copy for a time-strapped audience.

In this role you will:

  • Report and write original, compelling, and insightful articles with context and a forward spin that will get the attention of the broad financial services and technology community.
  • Proofread written content to ensure a high level of quality.
  • Take part in multimedia projects including webinar moderation, podcasts, and video interviews.
  • Take ownership of the news reel and help aggregate and curate news, videos, podcasts, and event content for the FinTech Futures website.
  • Take part in commercial projects, including content creation, webinar moderation, and video interviews.
  • Engage with users on our site, through social media and on multiple platforms, helping to drive traffic and grow our audience.
  • Attend and produce written coverage of industry events both international and domestic.
Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of business journalism experience; some familiarity with the financial services and/or technology industry is preferred.
  • Proven expertise as a tenacious reporter, graceful writer, and innovative content producer.
  • Experience of being on camera, including presenting/moderating at digital or physical events (beneficial but not required).
  • Understanding of digital platforms and analytics tools (Google Analytics, SEO, CMS etc).
  • Strong editorial and proofreading skills.
  • Strong networking skills.
  • Adept at social media.
