Role Overview:
The Transportation Coordinator will be responsible for managing daily transportation operations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries, coordinating with carriers, and supporting overall supply chain efficiency. This role is critical in maintaining strong relationships with drivers, vendors, and internal teams.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
· Schedule and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments.
· Monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve transportation issues as they arise.
· Communicate with carriers, drivers, and warehouse staff to maintain smooth operations.
· Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, costs, and compliance.
· Negotiate with carriers to secure cost-effective transportation solutions.
· Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, safety policies, and company standards.
· Provide reporting and analysis on transportation performance and costs.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (preferred) OR equivalent work experience.
· 2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain coordination.
· Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
· Proficiency TMS, ERP software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Knowledge of DOT and other transportation regulations.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds, stand for extended periods, bend and reach to access materials, and walk short distances throughout the workday.
