JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Electrical Systems Designer Sr. will support engineers for electrical system designs by preparing drawings and layouts by using computer-aided drafting software (CAD). This role will also be responsible for creating new and modified components and Bill of Materials (BOM) in accordance with the Oshkosh standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform high-quality design work through CAD systems to create and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness layouts, and cable assemblies.
  • Work closely with electrical engineers to create and modify electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Develop 2D and 3D routed cable and harness models, ensuring accuracy in fit, form, and function.
  • Design and layout electrical control panels, junction boxes, and electrical enclosures in compliance with design and safety standards.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering teams to conduct design reviews, gather technical data, and support collaborative decision-making.
  • Proficiently create electrical drawings following Jetway electrical CAD standards and industry best practices.
  • Update existing drawings from engineering markups and provide guidance to lower-level designers.
  • Create conceptual layouts for new designs and select appropriate components for compliant and reliable electrical systems.
  • Create, release, and revise complex BOMs following department procedures.
  • Experience with Siemens NX and AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:   

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent* with four (4) years of experience in design.
  • Internal placement only, requires a panel review and approval by the manager, local Vice President of Engineering, and the Chief Technology Officer.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent* with eight (8) years of experience in design.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience developing design concepts.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Capable of using standard Windows Office tools including SharePoint, email, and CAD tools.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor an individual design team member.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Physical Demands: Frequent Sitting, Visual, Typing, Fine Dexterity, Manual Dexterity, Upper Extremity Repetitive Motion; Occasional Hearing, Talking; Seldom Standing, Walking/Running, Bending/Kneeling.

*Note: equivalent equates approximately four (4) years of on the job experience to one (1) year of formal education.

Pay Range:

$72,200.00 - $116,200.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
