Cloud Infrastructure and Operations Engineer

About the role

Reporting into the Infrastructure & Cloud Security Manager, the Cloud Infrastructure and Operations Engineer is responsible for supporting V/Line’s infrastructure and cloud solutions.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • As the Cloud Infrastructure and Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting V/Line’s infrastructure and cloud solutions hosted in AWS.

  • You will also be responsible for assisting the Cloud Architect who is responsible for designing and building scalable and secure architecture solutions.

  • You will also be responsible for the design, development, testing and deployment of custom workflows and scripts within V/Line’s AWS Cloud Infrastructure environment that can be used for integration, deployment, monitoring, compliance or other routine tasks.

  • In this role you will be required to build, monitor and manage V/Line’s cloud infrastructure.

  • You will be required to provide on-call assistance to enable support in a 24x7 environment.

 

About you

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Must have hands-on experience managing and administrating AWS Cloud services, and/or Azure and O365 Cloud Services

  • Must possess a pro-active attitude, as well as being passionate about learning new processes/technologies

  • You will be proficient in using Microsoft Suite of Products (O365 & SharePoint). You will also be proficient in assessing and understanding end user requirements

  • You will bring extensive experience in AzureAD administration, experience in scripting as well as a working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, backup, archive and storage

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Systems, Computer Science or Analytical discipline (highly desirable)

  • Certification in AWS Certified Practitioner or AWS Certified SysOps Administration (highly desirable)

  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (highly desirable)     

 

Remuneration for this position is commensurate to the successful candidate’s aligned skills and experience to the position.

Remuneration for this position will be in line with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2023 / Asset Management Enterprise Agreement 2023).
