The Senior Director will manage a blended team of approximately 20 (10 IES employees and 10 contractors), driving alignment across business units, ensuring measurable outcomes, and enabling the organization with scalable, integrated technology platforms. This role requires a seasoned leader who can balance strategic vision with hands-on execution, build high-performing teams, and deliver value through enterprise software, ERP, and digital solutions tailored to IES’s industrial and construction services environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • ERP Leadership: Drive the enterprise-wide Dynamics 365 program, including design, implementation, adoption, and integration across all business units.
  • Governance & Oversight: Establish governance frameworks, standards, and best practices for software solutions, ensuring consistent execution and compliance across projects.
  • Enterprise Integration: Oversee integration of ERP, HRIS, financial, and operational systems to create seamless data flow and actionable insights.
  • Vendor & Partner Management: Lead relationships with ERP vendors, system integrators, and technology partners, negotiating scalable and cost-effective solutions.
  • Business Enablement: Collaborate with operations, finance, HR, supply chain, and field leaders to ensure technology supports project delivery, cost management, and operational efficiency.
  • Innovation & Modernization: Identify and evaluate emerging technologies (analytics, AI, IoT, mobile, automation) that can enhance IES’s business outcomes.
  • Change Leadership: Champion adoption of enterprise solutions, providing communication, training, and leadership to build a digitally enabled workforce.
  • People Leadership: Lead and develop a team of ~20 (10 IES staff + contractors), fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance.

Success Metrics (6–12 Months)

  • Successful execution of critical Dynamics 365 implementation milestones (design, pilot, or go-live).
  • Established governance and operating model for enterprise software projects.
  • Measurable improvements in system integration, reporting transparency, and process efficiency.
  • Documented ROI tied to ERP and enterprise software initiatives.
  • High adoption rates across multiple business units.

Specific Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Experience: 12+ years in IT/enterprise software leadership, with proven success leading ERP or enterprise software programs across multiple business units.
  • ERP Expertise: Deep expertise with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and large-scale ERP programs; strong understanding of related enterprise solutions (HRIS, financials, project management, supply chain).
  • Industry Knowledge: Background in construction, energy, or industrial services strongly preferred.
  • Change Leadership: Ability to drive transformation in decentralized, project-based environments.
  • Innovation: Strong grasp of emerging enterprise technologies and their business application.
  • Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills and a track record of engaging executives, functional leaders, and end users.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or related advanced degree preferred. PMP, Agile, or similar certifications a plus.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Be

  • A strategic leader who can align enterprise technology with business strategy.
  • A builder who can establish governance and lead large, complex programs.
  • A collaborator who bridges business and IT across distributed teams.
  • A change agent who can inspire adoption in field, office, and project settings.
  • A results-driven operator who measures success by business outcomes, not just project completion.
