A Food & Beverage Supervisor oversees the daily operations of our food and beverage service areas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring excellent service standards; event setup and execution; managing staff; overseeing inventory, ordering and administrative work; and maintaining the highest level of guest satisfaction. Job Title: Food & Beverage Supervisor

General Summary:
The Food & Beverage Supervisor oversees the daily operations of our food and beverage service areas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring excellent service standards; event setup and execution; managing staff; overseeing inventory, ordering and administrative work; and maintaining the highest level of guest satisfaction. The role demands strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to manage the team and provide an outstanding guest experience.
Essential Functions:
- Guest Experience: Demonstrate and promote a 100% commitment to providing the best possible experience for our guests and employees.
- Supervise Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of food and beverage service areas, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
- Inventory and Ordering: Manage inventory and order demand-based supplies to maintain stock and minimize waste, nurturing vendor relationships for accurate orders.
- Quality Control: Ensure food and beverage quality meets standards for taste and presentation.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure employees’ adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations, conducting regular inspections of service areas for cleanliness.
- Sales, Marketing and Budgeting: Work with Food and Beverage Manager to create and achieve sales targets, promote special items, and collaborate to improve profitability and guest satisfaction. Establish efficiencies, control profitability and create new ideas to increase revenue and/or guest satisfaction.
- Staff Management: Lead, motivate, and train a team of servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure optimal performance and a high standard of customer service. Work with Food and Beverage Manager to ensure staff is scheduled properly to cover the needs of the business.
- Event Support: Assist in planning and executing events, ensuring proper setup and coordination, and training staff on event procedures. Ensure proper set up of events and operations of events is executed before, during and after an event.
- Customer Service: Address customer inquiries and feedback promptly and report issues to managers.
- Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff, management, and other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
Supporting Functions:
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions.
- Aiding with administrative duties as needed
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested (i.e. special guest requests)
- Cook and prepare bulk food for use in the bar (preparation of meats, sauces, and produce prior to ordering)
- Other duties as assigned
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
- Thorough knowledge of the hotel, services and amenities available. Direct guests to the correct department based on guest needs
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism at all times
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy, requiring excellent time management skills and self- motivation
- Ability to serve as Manager-On-Duty
- Ability to organize and manage multiple projects, prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Qualification Standards
Communication:
Ability to exchange routine information in an appropriate manner. Ability to read and speak the English language and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to effectively communicate professionally with guests, associates, supervisors, and others as required for optimum operation of the property.
Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent
Any combination of education and experience equivalent provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Computer Skills:
Basic knowledge of computers and software including ability to use e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
Experience:
Minimum of three years in kitchen, bar, hotel or foodservice or hospitality experience
Licenses or Certificates:
Food Handlers’ Certification or Foodservice Managers Sanitation Certification
BASSET Certification
Valid Driver’s License
Grooming:
All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance including hair-style
Other:
Additional language ability preferred.
