Description
The Provider may be a Psychiatrist, a Physician with a Behavioral Health background, or a
PMH-APRN who provides services to adult and geriatric individuals to include assessment, diagnosis, treatment of psychiatric disorders. These services focus on individualized patient treatment to include individual, group and family psychotherapy.
Position Responsibilities:

- Provide patient evaluations and diagnoses using current DSM diagnosis – (Psychiatric principal diagnosis that fall within the range of ICD-10 codes for mental health).
- Formulates individualized plan of treatment based on presenting symptoms, assessment findings providing therapeutic interventions, on-going medication management, short and long-term goals.
- Maintains and completes documentation of treatment including evaluations, assessments, progress notes, psychotropic medications and informed consent, treatment plan reviews, and other required information in compliance with third party standards state-federal guidelines and regulatory time frames.
- If applicable according to contract, provides consultation with attending Medical Physicians on the other units and for the program when requested.
- Write prescriptions for psychotropic medications as allowed by state regulations and collaborative practice agreements.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team, to develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans.
- Participates in Treatment Team Meetings/Reviews (not to exceed 30 days).
- Maintains current knowledge of all applicable Federal, State and hospital regulations, and provides all services in compliance with the latter regulations.
- Ensures the Physician Supervision Process is maintained, and documentation is completed as needed. Supervision includes compliance issues related to state and federal requirements.
- Conducts therapy, medication assessments, and crisis response to new and existing clients.

Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience:

- Minimum Required Experience: Experience in geriatric psychiatry working with interdisciplinary treatment teams. Proven ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other Providers and team members.

- Preferred Experience: 2 years of post-master’s clinical experience in a geriatric Intensive Outpatient Program.
- Education:
- Minimum Required Education: Licensed to practice Medicine in the state of Kansas. Board eligible in psychiatry or geriatric medicine.
- Licenses:
- Minimum Required Licenses: Current licensure as a Psychiatrist, Medical Doctor, or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
- Preferred Licenses: APNP, MD, or DO.
- Certifications:
- Minimum Required: Current certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, or Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), or an equivalent body as required by licensure
- Preferred Certifications: PMHNP
