Description
The League Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of all athletic leagues within a designated Club; providing leadership to employees and volunteer staff during league events; and manage equipment and supplies. This position will also be responsible for overseeing program areas and activities during Club hours in a designated program area.
Part-Time: 29 hours a week maximum
Expected Hours : Monday-Friday 4-8 pm Saturday: 9am to 6 pm
Location: 5895 Evergreen Ave. Portage, IN 46368
Pay: $13 to $15 an hour
Qualifications
Major Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and supervise purposeful and engaging programs and activities to achieve specific goals and outcome measurements.
- Ensure a healthy and safe environment.
- Ensure that facilities and equipment are in stock and maintained.
- Responsible for recruiting members to participate in athletic leagues.
- Create league teams, practice and game schedules.
- Ensure professional and timely communications to all parents, coaches, and volunteers.
Knowledge of:
- Safety practices and procedures relating to the work;
- Computer applications related to the work.
- Principles related to development of youth between 7 and 18 years of age.
- Supervisory principles and practices.
- Budget management and expenditure controls.
- Group leadership skills and understanding of group dynamics.
Ability to:
- Plan, organize, direct, assign, review and evaluate the work of others,
- Coordinate and review the work of assigned volunteers and staff,
- Recruit, select, train, and supervise all volunteers and staff,
- Maintain accurate records of work performed;
- Provide leadership and guidance to club members concerning sports, fitness, recreation and first aid.
- Promote and stimulate participation and interest of all members in sports, fitness and recreation activities,
- Assist with all club wide special events,
- Prepare oral and written reports;
- Make effective public presentation of program information;
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with sports, fitness, recreational and health agencies contacted in the course of the work.
Education, Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or education/experience equivalency.
- A minimum of two years of experience in the operation of a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage budgets and control expenses.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Possession of a valid state driver license.
- Meet the eligibility of insurance company regulations for operating Club vehicle(s).
