Description
The Quality Technician is responsible for a broad range of quality control activities. In this role you will perform functions such as various receiving inspections, in-process inspections, verification of completed paperwork, identifying non-conformance issues, final product inspection and checking dimensions of production detail parts and assemblies using hand tools such as calipers, scales, micrometers, and height gauge.
What You Will Do:
- Follow all established quality management system procedures and work instructions
- Inspect and accept electronic and/or mechanical hardware referencing quality control standards, workmanship and drawing specifications by checking such items as parts, wires, solder joints and terminals through the use of appropriate inspection devices.
- Inspect and reject for tests or rework or otherwise approves hardware as acceptable.
- Inspect for acceptance, all types and series of hardware to determine that build, rework, modification and repairs conform to contractual/drawing requirements.
- Ensure procedures and work instructions are followed, resolving quality-related issues with internal customers
- Generate required reports, perform verifications, tracking of data, and recommendation of process improvements
- Verify incoming product to ensure purchase orders and customer requirements are met
- Verify assemblies meet all customer requirements
- Ensure that instruments used for product acceptance are in calibration prior to use
- Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances per established procedures
- Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports
- Approve the discarding or rejection of products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications
- Observe and monitor production operations and equipment to ensure conformance to specifications and make or order necessary process or assembly adjustments
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years’ experience working in production assembly
- Knowledge of general quality control practices
- Ability to understand customer specifications and requirements and read blueprints and schematics
- Ability to manage and execute on multiple priorities
- Attention to detail, good time management skills, with a sense of urgency and a quality mindset
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
What is Nice to Have:
- 1+ year experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
- 6+ months using a forklift with certification
