Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for participating in all quality-related activities, as well as directing and managing a group of employees involved in inspection, quality control procedures and problem resolution. This is a very hands-on position, with the majority of time being spent on the production floor. This role is challenging within a fast-paced environment and will require strong prioritization and communication skills. The QA Manager is completely responsible for the overall health of the Quality Department through technical guidance, employee development, and actively collaborating with production.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage our quality system to achieve compliance to ISO 9001 quality standards and continuously improve product and process quality.
- Oversee corrective action system to ensure true root cause analysis and problem resolution in a timely manner.
- Implement continuous improvement and lean methodologies to reduce waste in all aspects of the operation.
- Serve as primary point of contact for BrandFX, LLC. Service, account managers questions regarding our products or quality concerns.
- Assist with product development and problem-solving.
- Understand and adhere to all Corporate and regulatory requirements.
- Promote and provide a safe work environment.
- As part of continuous improvement program, develop new processes and tooling for both existing and new products and manage capital projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a supervisory role leading and directing a team. A supervisor who is accustomed to only sitting behind a desk and processing paperwork will not be the right fit for this position.
- At least 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be familiar with various quality testing procedures and able to perform all quality tests on a daily basis.
- Quality critical and continuous improvement mindset
- Effective problem solving, communication and organizational skills
- Excellent color acuity and good vision (corrected if necessary)
- Basic PC skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Thorough understanding of Quality critical and continuous improvement processes, tolerances and acceptable defect rate
- Displays excellent decision-making skills
- Knowledge of various testing (destructive, in-process and controlled).
- Must have flexibility and be willing to work varying schedules and hours as needed.
- Must be able to work overtime as required by workload and customer-driven deadlines.
