About the Role:
The Director of Intake is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the intake and patient onboarding process to ensure that referrals are processed efficiently, patients are onboarded seamlessly, and the organization complies with all clinical, regulatory, and payer requirements. The Director will lead a team of Intake Coordinators, working closely with clinical, pharmacy, sales, and reimbursement departments to deliver exceptional patient experiences and operational excellence.
Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience/Education:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 10+ years of leadership experience in healthcare services.
- Proficient at partner programs (i.e.: MS Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Ability to cope with ambiguous, changing environment while under pressure in a calm manner.
- Must be able to work as a team member and develop productive and cooperative working relationships with all members of the Palmetto Infusion team.
Essential Functions:
• Lead, develop, and manage the Intake team, fostering high performance, accountability, and collaboration.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for intake processes, turnaround times, and patient satisfaction.
• Oversee the full intake workflow from referral to onboarding, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure completion of all documentation, insurance verifications, authorizations, and clinical assessments.
• Maintain expertise in payer requirements, prior authorizations, and documentation standards.
• Analyze and streamline intake procedures to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
• Implement technology and systems to optimize intake operations and workflows.
• Act as liaison between sales, clinical, pharmacy, and revenue cycle teams to ensure smooth transitions.
• Communicate effectively with referral sources, physicians, and patients while resolving intake-related issues or delays.
• Develop and enforce SOPs, ensuring audit readiness and compliance with federal, state, and accrediting regulations (e.g., HIPAA, ACHC).
