Accounts Receivable Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing and optimizing the insurance revenue cycle across multiple oral surgery practice locations within the DSO. This role leads a team of Accounts Receivable Supervisors and Specialist, drives efficient claims management and AR processes, reduces denials and aging balances, and ensures consistent application of best practices across all supported offices. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of dental and medical insurance billing and AR, strong leadership skills, and a data-driven approach to maximize insurance collections and minimize revenue leakage.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and lead a team of employees, including developing a high performing team and assessing performance.
• Reduce aging balances and days in AR through consistent follow-up, escalation protocols, and denial resolution.
• Ensure accurate coding, payer compliance, and documentation for timely and successful reimbursement.
• Ensure effective and timely claims follow up and correction actions.
• Analyze trends to identify root causes of denials or underpayments and implement corrective actions.
• Present monthly AR and collections performance to leadership.
• Establish performance metrics and hold team members accountable for individual and collective goals.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce denials and improve revenue cycle efficiency.
• Collaborate with coding and billing teams to ensure accurate claim submissions.
• Respond to practice team member questions regarding RCM and AR.
• Monitor and respond to changes in payer policies and coding requirements.
• Perform other duties as new opportunities arise and/or as assigned. Demonstrate a strong work ethic, high sense of urgency and passionate desire to drive results.
• Assess developmental needs of staff and incorporate and develop training appropriately.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
• Extensive experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, with a focus on payment reconciliations and accounts receivable.
• Strong understanding of dental and medical billing codes, insurance regulations.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs.
• Exemplary leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years experience working in the healthcare industry.
• Previous experience in a DSO environment.
• Proficiency in dental and/or medical practice management software.
